Happy Winter Break, Cornerstone family!!! To celebrate the end of the first semester, we hosted a wonderful set of Winter Productions at both the Louis and Manuela campuses. The time and effort that each class put into practicing for their presentations was plain as day, and the students were able to showcase their public speaking skills and all they learned in class.
The Piglet (Preschool), Panda (Pre-K), Hippo (Kindergarten), and Squirrel (first grade) classes put on a lively performance at the Manuela campus on Tuesday morning. The Piglet Class was so excited for the holidays! They shared what they would love to do with their beloved ones during winter. The Panda Class shared everything they learned about the season-- the winter weather, holidays, activities, and more! Afterwards, the Hippo Class presented what they learned about seeds. They conducted experiments and shared what they learned from their field trip. Finally, the Squirrel Class taught the audience about Juana Briones, an important figure in Palo Alto’s history. They were all so inspired by Juana Briones's innovations!
The Grizzly Bear (second grade), Hawk (third grade), Koi (fourth grade), and Flying Dragon (fifth grade) Classes showcased their knowledge of social science topics taught recently. The Grizzly Bear Class, who were learning about people who made a difference, told the story about the Wright Brothers, whose spirit of innovation continues to inspire many people today. Next, the Hawk Class put on a presentation about Native Americans based on their research in class and during their field trip. They even learned and performed a traditional Native American dance! This was followed by the Koi Class, who taught the audience about different cultural stories about the origins of fire. The Winter Production concluded with a presentation about the effects of climate change from the Flying Dragon Class. We were delighted to witness the joyful gathering of so many members of our community, both in person and on Zoom, as we all came together to enjoy some hot beverages and celebrate our students’ hard work. Congratulations to all of our students and teachers for a wonderful show and a fruitful semester!
