2024 Cornerstone Charter Celebration

Updated: Aug 20, 2024

To recognize the students for all of their diligent work this school year, the Full Day 2-5 grade classes hosted a Cornerstone Charter Celebration on May 17. This event was indeed the epitome of student-centered learning, as each class organized educational activities for all of the other classes to participate in. The students played math and Chinese character recognition games hosted by the Grizzly Bear and Hawk Classes, explored inventions such as cars, windmills, and other architectural marvels crafted with small motors by the Koi Class, and enjoyed skits from stories of the Three Kingdoms by the Flying Dragon Class. Later in the afternoon, the students participated in a trading fair, utilizing the Cornerstone money they had earned during the year to purchase used goods from other students and delicious snacks. The event culminated in an award ceremony, where students from each class were recognized for their achievements during the semester. Awards were given to students who showed the most improvement, academic excellence, and outstanding character. This was such a special experience for the students, all the more rewarding in knowing that their accomplishments during the school year were gaining the acknoledgement they deserved.
