What are the reasons for the seasons? This was the question the fifth graders in the Flying Dragon Class explored during their field trip to the Palo Alto Junior Museum on Wednesday, August 30. The Flying Dragon Class has been learning about the rotation of the Earth and day-night alternation at school and they were able to get some first-hand experience on the subject during this field trip. The students worked in pairs to conduct a series of experiments to learn more about Earth’s rotation and how its orbit causes different seasons. This was such a purposeful experience for our fifth graders and they’re excited to continue to learn more about this fascinating subject!
