How Eyes Work: 4th Grade’s Hands-On Discovery

On October 16, our Koi Class set off on their 2nd session of their Beyond the Classroom Field Trip Program.

Under the guidance of the museum instructors, our students dove into a hands-on dissection of a cow’s eye. They listened attentively as they explored the basic anatomy of both human and bovine eyes, eagerly comparing the similarities and differences between the two. Throughout the activity, the children demonstrated incredible focus, deep curiosity, and genuine teamwork as they worked through the dissection side by side. They also showed wonderful safety awareness on our walk to and from the museum, taking care of one another every step of the way.

It was a thoroughly engaging experience that truly brought science to life and gave our students a much deeper understanding of how the eye works.
