Student Council Bake Sale at Rinconada Park

Following months of meticulous planning, the Student Council’s hard work culminated in their very first event on Tuesday, November 28 - a bake sale at Rinconada Park to fundraise money for the Student Council’s future endeavors. The students thought through every last detail, including how to collect money from people who didn’t have cash and how to communicate their mission with the public to generate interest. Throughout the whole event, the students displayed impressive cooperation, flexibility, and strong business acumen. When they initially positioned themselves in an area of the park that didn’t generate the desired foot traffic, the students worked together to come up with a plan to find another section of the park that would generate more customers and acted accordingly. When some students were initially hesitant to advertise their bake sale and approach strangers, they learned to move past their initial reluctance and speak up to generate more business. The students even tried to continue to sell the rest of their baked goods to other students and families when they returned to school! As a result of the students’ hard work, the Student Council raised over $200 from their bake sale! Congratulations to the Student Council officials and members! We’re all so proud of our students and can’t wait to see how they plan to use their funds to better the school!
