1st Graders' Field Trip To Junior Zoo And Museum To Extend Their Learning About Adaptation

How do different animals adapt over time to survive? This was the big question the first graders in the Squirrel Class sought to answer on their field trip to the Palo Alto Junior Museum on Wednesday, May 3. During this trip, the students were enthralled with all of the different animals they met on the field trip, including a tarantula, a porcupine, and a tortoise! They were fascinated by all the different adaptations these different animals have developed and how they helped them to survive in the wild. The students left with a lot of new knowledge that they can’t wait to apply in their lives!
