Welcome Students from Tzu Chi School Taiwan

During the first few weeks of 2024, the second, third, fourth, and fifth grade students in our Full Day Program enthusiastically prepared for the arrival of some very special guests from our sister school Tzu Chi School Taiwan. On Monday, January 16, fifteen fifth and sixth-grade students and two teachers from Tzu Chi School Taiwan landed in San Francisco to begin their ten-day exchange program with Cornerstone.

Our guests from Tzu Chi School Taiwan visited many famous places around the Bay Area, including the iconic Palace of Fine Arts and Golden Gate Bridge, the SkyStar Ferris Wheel at Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory in Chinatown, and the Stanford University Campus. The students and teachers from Tzu Chi School also had the opportunity to visit Angel Island with the fourth-grade students in our Koi Class.

During the ten-day exchange program, both groups of students from Tzu Chi School Taiwan and our fifth grade Flying Dragon Class collaborated to work on different projects for their different classes, which they presented during the Farewell Dinner at Cornerstone Louis Campus on January 23 and a special celebration day on January 24. During their visit, the Tzu Chi students and teachers stayed with host families in our Cornerstone community, who scheduled different excursions and fun activities for the visiting students and teachers and showed tremendous hospitality in helping our guests feel welcome.

This exchange program provided such a great opportunity for all the parties involved to learn and celebrate. The Flying Dragon Class is already looking forward to seeing their friends again when they have their Taiwan Trip in March 2024! May the journey of discovering oneself and exploring the world never stop!
