At Cornerstone, we guide students of all ages to celebrate the joy of learning through lively performances and presentations, showcasing their progress to friends and family. This tradition begins as early as three years old. These events provide incredible opportunities for our students to build confidence through public speaking, which, in turn, enhances their language skills. Recently, our youngest champions from the Piglet Class and Panda Class, all three and four years old, took center stage for their very first performances of the school year!
Our youngest learners, the Piglet Class, had their performance on October 29. It was a festive and joyful event enjoyed by everyone involved!
The children sang three different Chinese songs covering topics they’ve been exploring, including fruits and vegetables and their five senses. They then confidently shared their knowledge about superheroes. The students discussed what powers superheroes possess and how they help others. Most heartwarmingly, they each shared how they are superheroes and what their proudest accomplishments have been so far this year.
The little heroes' declarations showcased their growing confidence and skills, including: “I am a superhero. I will try new things and not be afraid,” “I am a superhero. I am able to look at others eyes when talking to them,”
The learning celebrations continued the next day with the Panda Class’s performance on Wednesday, October 30. The Panda Class shared what they’ve been learning- the Earth. This was followed by an explanation from the students about how corn grows. To finish, the children led their families in a fun game called “Find a Friend,” requiring family members to follow the students’ movements.
Student performances are always a highlight for families and students alike, allowing everyone to celebrate the culmination of the students’ effort and dedication to learning. We can’t wait to follow our young students as they continue their learning journey!
