5th Graders' Extended Learning About Microcosms

The Flying Dragon Class made a third trip to the Palo Alto Junior Museum on Wednesday, October 25. This time, the students learned how to use a microscope to explore the world of microcosms. specifically exploring and learning about the plankton species. The students learned how to set up microscope slides and use the microscope to examine different local microorganisms. It was a thrilling experience for the students to see microorganisms from the nearby baylands such as nematodes, flatworms, and diatoms up close. It appears that the Palo Alto Junior Museum continues to be an educational and awe-inspiring place for the Flying Dragon Class to further enhance their scientific knowledge. We look forward to more of these enriching experiences!
