With the cold winter days upon us, the kindergarteners in the Hippo Class were fortunate enough during their trip to Rancho San Antonio County Park to enjoy some beautiful weather as they happily explored their natural surroundings. As part of their in-class studies about seeds, the students collected a variety of seeds and classified them according to size, shape, and many other categories. They worked together to gather all different kinds of seeds themselves, including date palm seeds, chestnuts, acorns, and more! The students even saw some wild turkeys and deer romping around in the park during their outing! The students’ enthusiasm and natural curiosity about the world around them is truly inspiring for all of us!
To build on their fascination on the subject, the kindergarteners started their own seed experiment in class, carefully nurturing different seeds and charting their growth. The students were involved in every aspect of this experiment from preparing the soil for their seeds, making sure that they provided adequate water and sunlight, and meticulously measuring their seeds’ daily growth. The students’ enthusiasm and natural curiosity about the world around them is truly inspiring for all of us and we eagerly anticipate the final results of their experiment!
